“The exoskeleton is part of the overall concept we have to keep employees in work. And it's important to us that we keep up with the times for our employees.”

Carsten Wöhler, Division Manager

An excellent exoskeleton.

The BionicBack was the first exoskeleton to be awarded the prestigious AGR seal of approval “Tested & Recommended”. This award confirms its effectiveness and ergonomic excellence by leading experts from the fields of medicine, therapy and research.

The AGR seal of approval is only awarded to products that have been evaluated by an independent test committee of doctors and therapists from various disciplines according to strict criteria. The award means that the BionicBack meets the highest medical and ergonomic standards.
With the AGR seal of approval as a mark of quality, you can be sure that you are investing in a product that meets both you, your employees and the medical requirements.

Gütesiegel "Aktion Gesunder Rücken" - AGR

The BionicBack is recommended by the Forum Gesunder Rücken - besser leben e.V. and the Bundesverband deutscher Rückenschulen (BdR) e.V., taking into account the following criteria:

  • Has a proven biomechanical effect on: Hip extensor muscles, back extensor muscles, trunk stabilizers

  • Reduces overloading during repetitive bending and lifting

  • Good fit

  • Adjustable to the individual activity profile

  • Comfortable handling

  • Low weight

  • Weather and environmental suitability

  • Easy to clean

  • Without restriction or hindrance in everyday working life

Before the actual certification, a comprehensive preliminary inspection takes place on site. In the main inspection, which takes place twice a year over several days, manufacturers must demonstrate the ergonomic benefits of their product through presentations, practical demonstrations, and, if necessary, study evidence. Only products that are convincing in all aspects receive the AGR seal of approval.

The high credibility of the AGR seal of approval is particularly noteworthy: it has been classified as reputable and trustworthy by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and recognized as an EU guarantee mark—a seal of quality that only a few test marks receive. The consumer initiative e. V. also awards the AGR seal of approval the highest rating of “highly recommended” on its Label-online.de portal.

For the BionicBack, this certification means that it has been proven to meet the highest standards in terms of ergonomics and back health – independently tested and officially recommended.

BionicBack

The BionicBack is a passive exoskeleton designed to reduce the strain on the back during lifting and carrying. By supporting the natural movements of the back and relieving strain on the lumbar spine during daily work activities, the BionicBack helps to improve the health and well-being of users.

WE WANTED TO KNOW EXACTLY.

Empirical studies show that the BionicBack reduces muscle fatigue by up to 86% and improves posture by 37%. Muscle activity during lifting and carrying is reduced by 5-35%, which significantly reduces the strain on the back muscles. These results show that the BionicBack is an effective solution for supporting and relieving the back during physically demanding activities. The significant improvements in posture and reduction in muscle fatigue contribute significantly to the long-term health and performance of users.

"At first, I was rather skeptical myself—until I used it for several lifting operations and immediately felt the effect. In my opinion, you can only really have a say after you've had your own practical experience."

"I am happy and grateful to be able to use this exoskeleton in my everyday nursing work because it gives me the confidence that, despite my rheumatic disease, I will be able to continue working in my dream job for a long time to come, and BionicBack supports me in this. The BionicBack exoskeleton supports me in my everyday nursing work and significantly relieves the strain on my problematic body areas. Since I developed rheumatism many years ago, I have always had difficulty coping with my work due to pain. I often felt tired and physically exhausted before the end of my shift. With the BionicBack, I experience a whole new body feeling. It supports my back and relieves my shoulder area and muscles. I notice this clearly while I am working. The user-friendly settings are very practical. With just a few simple steps, I can quickly set two support modes that assist me in my activities. And when I want to sit down, it works just as quickly by pulling on the two straps and releasing the modes again. This allows me to wear the exoskeleton throughout the entire working day and I don't have to constantly put it on and take it off to sit down. With the BionicBack, I experience a whole new body sensation. My search for a company that offers exoskeletons for private individuals in the nursing sector proved to be extremely difficult. Help Tech's customer service was a great help in obtaining this exoskeleton. I am particularly grateful to Veronika Köhler, who always sought and found solutions to ensure a consultation and enable access to the BionicBack."

RELIEF FOR CAREGIVERS.

Care workers are under a lot of physical strain every day - the back in particular is under a lot of strain. In a one-year long-term study, we at Help Tech, together with the Diakonie Stiftung Salem, WohnXperium e.V. and bkk melitta hmr, investigated how the BionicBack can improve working conditions in the care sector.

The results speak for themselves: the strain on the lower back was reduced, pain in the back, shoulder and neck area decreased noticeably and care staff reported a more pleasant, ergonomic way of working. In addition, optimized movement patterns resulted in long-term health benefits.

The study has shown that the BionicBack can make a valuable contribution to health prevention in the care sector.

"The BionicBack helps us to care for our son in a more back-friendly way. The relief when lifting and bending is clearly noticeable."
