Scientifically tested - study at ETH Zurich

A study conducted at ETH Zurich examined the effectiveness of the BionicBack using surface myography and demonstrated its ability to relieve pressure.

Long-term study in nursing practice – Diakonie Stiftung Salem, bkk melitta hmr, WohnXperium e.V., Chemnitz University of Technology

Care workers are under a lot of physical strain every day - the back in particular is under a lot of strain. In a one-year long-term study, we at Help Tech, together with the Diakonie Stiftung Salem, WohnXperium e.V. and bkk melitta hmr, investigated how the BionicBack can improve working conditions in the care sector.

The results speak for themselves: the strain on the lower back was reduced, pain in the back, shoulder and neck area decreased noticeably and care staff reported a more pleasant, ergonomic way of working. In addition, optimized movement patterns resulted in long-term health benefits.

The study has shown that the BionicBack can make a valuable contribution to health prevention in the care sector.

Study by Offenburg University & Zehnder

In a motion-capture study conducted by Offenburg University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with Zehnder, posture was recorded before and after a typical workday.

Result: With BionicBack, all participants exhibited a more upright posture – by an average of 37%.

Comparative study by the University of Innsbruck

An independent analysis of five exoskeletons (German Bionic, Japet, Hunic, Rakunie, BionicBack) was conducted at the University of Innsbruck. The BionicBack achieved the best result, with a 25% reduction in muscle activity in the multifidus muscle.

Of particular relevance: The multifidus muscle stabilizes the spine – reducing its activity directly translates to less effort required for good posture and thus a reduction in pressure on the intervertebral discs.

Our customers' experience with the BionicBack in everyday life.

“I used to have back pain and the exoskeleton is very comfortable - I feel good. I find it easy to use and once you've been shown how to use it, it's very simple.”
