BionicBack

Protect your back!

Manufacturing and crafts are characterised by repetitive movements and heavy lifting. Each of these operations can put considerable strain on the human body, especially the back. The BionicBack offers the solution for the requirements of the production sector and crafts precisely here. Based on biomechanical principles, the exoskeleton is designed to support and protect the back while seamlessly adapting to the wearer's natural movements. The robust lower part protects the lumbar region, while the upper, mobile part allows freedom of movement of the thoracic spine. Its dynamic and static modes provide individually tailored support for the diverse challenges of craft and production.  Its lightweight and compact design ensures that comfort and freedom of movement are never compromised.

Absorption

Elastic elements absorb forces: The BionicBack integrates elastic components that effectively absorb forces. These elements are elastomer tension straps and absorb the forces generated when moving and working, thus reducing the load on the back.

Stabilisation

Stabilisation of the torso for optimised movement: The BionicBack not only supports by absorbing forces, but also stabilises the torso at the same time. The result is a supple and safe movement sequence that reduces the likelihood of incorrect posture and associated injuries.

Force diversion

Redirecting forces to protect against overload: When bending and lifting, forces are often concentrated on the lower back. The BionicBack redirects these forces specifically to other parts of the body, such as the legs and shoulders. This protects the sensitive lumbar area from overload and reduces the risk of back injuries and diseases.

Which activities does the BionicBack support?

Complex tasks and physical stress are commonplace in the production and craft industries. The BionicBack was developed specifically for such requirements. Its flexible design provides support throughout the working day without restricting movement. Whether lifting, working in a bent-over position or operating machinery, the BionicBack remains discreetly in the background and comes to the fore exactly when it is needed. The result: a significantly reduced risk of back injuries and increased productivity in areas where efficiency and safety go hand in hand.

Why the BionicBack?

In the manufacturing and craft industries, sick days and staff turnover are not only costly, but also problematic for maintaining morale and efficiency. Physical wear and tear is particularly high, and back pain is often a daily occurrence. This is a major contributor to staff turnover and skill shortages, which in turn leads to increased costs for new hires and training. The BionicBack was developed to combat precisely these problems. Not only is it a remedy for physical strain, but it is also an investment in employee health and satisfaction. A healthier workforce means fewer days lost, lower turnover and therefore increased productivity and customer satisfaction.

Support

The BionicBack stabilises your back, promotes a healthy posture and prevents risky postures despite its flexibility. The aim is to reduce the strain on you.

Technology

The relief and support settings can be infinitely adjusted to any activity while wearing with a flick of the wrist. In this way, it is possible to switch between dynamic, static or freewheeling function in the twinkling of an eye.

Flexibility

When designing the system, a high value was placed on flexibility in order to create an optimal balance between mobility and stability that relieves the strain of daily work.

The right setting for every activity.

Dynamic Mode

The Dynamic setting provides optimal support when working deeply in the bend or squat position, e.g. when putting on trombo stockings, and is designed not to interfere with natural movement.

Booster Mode

Booster mode increases the cushioning in the system and supports activities that involve static and forward bending, for example patient transfer from bed to chair.

Mix and Match

But you don't have to choose a mode at all. With the mixed mode, you have a flexible and stepless combination of the booster and the dynamic mode.

Free-running function

With a flick of the wrist and a firm tug on the adjustment straps, all support is deactivated for unrestricted movement, sitting, operating machinery or simply taking a break.
