BionicBack

Protect your back!

Employees in care suffer from back disorders more often than average. Back pain often starts insidiously and can eventually develop into a chronic condition. The strain on the back for care workers is increased by a combination of external factors: patient weight, patient mobility, room size as well as psychological stress play a significant role. The statistics reveal not only the shortage of skilled workers, but also the additional financial burden for care institutions. But which activities are particularly risky?

Patient transfer

  • Transferring from the edge of the bed to the chair Movement towards the head end from the head end or long side

  • Sitting at the edge of the bed

  • Moving to the edge of the bed

  • Transferring bed to bed

Body Care & Hygiene

  • Sliding under bedpan

  • Body care in bed with lifting and holding the extremities

  • Body care in bent, squatting or twisted posture

  • Putting on support stockings

Therapeutic measures

  • Carrying out mobility training

  • Movement therapy

  • Remobilisation

Which activities does the BionicBack support?

The BionicBack minimises back strain during critical care activities. Putting on the BionicBack takes only one minute and is adaptable to different body types, so hardly any time is lost in the daily routine. Thanks to elastic elements, back loads are absorbed and distributed by the bionic back structure while the torso is stabilised. Patient grips also enable a safe and comfortable transfer. This avoids the often problematic "neck grip" and allows the cared for to actively participate. In addition, the BionicBack can be integrated into an ideal overall concept in combination with qualified care techniques such as kinaesthetics or the Bobath concept, as well as the use of other aids. In this way, the BionicBack makes nursing work more efficient, safer and easier on the back.

Hygiene is a top priority.

Its water- and disinfectant-resistant design means it can be easily cleaned and disinfected. Even better, all of the BionicBack's pads are removable and can be effectively cleaned on a 60-degree machine wash cycle.

Support

The BionicBack stabilises your back, promotes a healthy posture and prevents risky postures despite its flexibility. The aim is to reduce the strain on you.

Technology

The relief and support settings can be infinitely adjusted to any activity while wearing with a flick of the wrist. In this way, it is possible to switch between dynamic, static or freewheeling function in the twinkling of an eye.

Flexibility

When designing the system, a high value was placed on flexibility in order to create an optimal balance between mobility and stability that relieves the strain of daily work.

The right setting for every activity.

Dynamic Mode

The Dynamic setting provides optimal support when working deeply in the bend or squat position, e.g. when putting on trombo stockings, and is designed not to interfere with natural movement.

Booster Mode

Booster mode increases the cushioning in the system and supports activities that involve static and forward bending, for example patient transfer from bed to chair.

Mix and Match

But you don't have to choose a mode at all. With the mixed mode, you have a flexible and stepless combination of the booster and the dynamic mode.

Freerunning Function

With a flick of the wrist and a firm tug on the adjustment straps, all support is deactivated for unrestricted movement, sitting, operating machinery or simply taking a break.
