BionicBack

Protect your back!

The dynamics of logistics and intralogistics keep the world in step. Every movement is an additional stress point for the human body, especially for the back. The passive exoskeleton BionicBack comes into play to address exactly this problem.
The BionicBack exoskeleton, based on biomechanical principles, is designed to effectively support and protect the back. Its structure simulates the human back, with the firm lower part protecting the lumbar region and the upper, flexible part mimicking the thoracic spine.

Two modes - dynamic and static - provide targeted support depending on movement requirements.

Despite its high level of support, the BionicBack is extremely light and compact, which guarantees freedom of movement and wearing comfort.

Absorbtion

Elastic elements absorb forces: The BionicBack integrates elastic components that effectively absorb forces. These elements are elastomer tension straps and absorb the forces generated when moving and working, thus reducing the load on the back.

Stabilisation

Stabilisation of the torso for optimised movement: The BionicBack not only supports by absorbing forces, but also stabilises the torso at the same time. The result is a supple and safe movement sequence that reduces the likelihood of incorrect posture and associated injuries.

Force diversion

Redirecting forces to protect against overload: When bending and lifting, forces are often concentrated on the lower back. The BionicBack redirects these forces specifically to other parts of the body, such as the legs and shoulders. This protects the sensitive lumbar area from overload and reduces the risk of back injuries and diseases.

Which activities does the BionicBack support?

The heart of logistics: picking, packing and storing, these are often underestimated tasks that involve a high degree of physical strain. The heterogeneous nature of these tasks requires a high degree of flexibility from the staff, but also from the equipment used.

This is exactly where the BionicBack comes in. It was specially developed for these complex and dynamic tasks and its design provides the necessary support without restricting freedom of movement. Employees can wear it all day without it interfering with lifting, moving or operating machinery such as forklifts and pallet trucks. The BionicBack provides back support exactly when it is needed most and takes a back seat when it is unnecessary. The result is noticeable relief and protection of the back, especially in an area where efficiency and health must go hand in hand.

Warum der BionicBack?

In the fast-paced world of logistics, sick days and staff turnover are a constant dilemma. The BionicBack addresses this problem directly. The statistics on musculoskeletal disorders in the industry are alarming and turnover and the costs associated with re-hiring are a constant problem for employers.

The BionicBack was developed to combat this problem. Not only does it reduce physical strain, but it also serves as an investment in employee health and satisfaction. A healthy workforce means less absenteeism, reduced sick leave and recruitment costs, and increased productivity and efficiency.

Support

The BionicBack stabilises your back, promotes a healthy posture and prevents risky postures despite its flexibility. The aim is to reduce the strain on you.

Technology

The relief and support settings can be infinitely adjusted to any activity while wearing with a flick of the wrist. In this way, it is possible to switch between dynamic, static or freewheeling function in the twinkling of an eye.

Flexibility

When designing the system, a high value was placed on flexibility in order to create an optimal balance between mobility and stability that relieves the strain of daily work.

The right setting for every activity.

Dynamic Mode

The Dynamic setting provides optimal support when working deeply in the bend or squat position, e.g. when putting on trombo stockings, and is designed not to interfere with natural movement.

Booster Mode

Booster mode increases the cushioning in the system and supports activities that involve static and forward bending, for example patient transfer from bed to chair.

Mix and Match

But you don't have to choose a mode at all. With the mixed mode, you have a flexible and stepless combination of the booster and the dynamic mode.

Free-running function

With a flick of the wrist and a firm tug on the adjustment straps, all support is deactivated for unrestricted movement, sitting, operating machinery or simply taking a break.
